Splendour promises not to drip-feed lineup on FasterLouder.com.au

Splendour in the Grass has promised not to drip-feed the highly anticipated 2012 lineup and just confirm the whole darn thing in one momentous overload of musical goodness. That long list of acts on the lineup is coming very, very soon – as the more eager Splendour fans might know last year’s lineup was released on the 13th of April; the 2010 lineup came on the 15th of April and in 2009 it came on April 22nd.

On the festival’s facebook page a worried fan begged Splendour “Please don’t drip feed the line-up this year… that was horrific” leading the festival to quickly promise that the lineup would come in one full dose.

With a sly dig at Soundwave, Splendour announced: “Haven’t done it in the past, not about to start. Maybe you’re confusing us with another festival. For the last two years Splendour has made one official lineup announcement for the main stages. Prior to that we used to do two main stage lineup announcements.”

Splendour also warned fans about unofficial announcements telling fans to “Please wait for the OFFICIAL lineup announcement in a few weeks and don’t take the many unofficial “announcements” and “confirmations” as anything but conjecture and speculation until you get the good word from Splendour itself.”

So perhaps they’re trying to distance themselves from the speculation about comments and tour dates that make The Shins, Django Django, Band of Skulls, Azealia Banks, Bloc Party, Sleigh Bells, The Ting Tings and Ladyhawke all likely contenders for the Splendour 2012 lineup.

Watch for the full Splendour in the Grass 2012 announcement coming in one hit to FasterLouder very soon.
